A GANG of boys as young as eight kicked a baby wallaby to death at a zoo, it was revealed yesterday.

The yobs were caught on CCTV attacking the two-month-old animal before hurling it into a nearby pool.

One lout threw the body back into a shelter where six wallabies were cowering.

Horrified keepers at Dudley Zoo, West Midlands, discovered the body hours later after investigating why the other wallabies were behaving strangely.

Zoo curator Matthew Lewis said wallabies are placid creatures.

He added: “The baby had just left its mother’s pouch. We think it died within seconds from fright.”

The attackers broke in despite a 6ft electric fence.

Security guards spotted them shouting at a lion soon after the attack about 7pm last Wednesday and kicked them out — not realising the wallaby had been killed.

Three boys aged eight to 11 were arrested and released pending further inquiries.

How could anyone be so cruel?   What is wrong with  the people in this world we live in? This article actually just moved me to tears. I hate people that pick on things weaker than them.
